Indian police raid militant hideouts in Kashmir
Jan. 23 - Security forces say they have found a militant hideout belonging to Pakistan based Lashkar-e-Taiba in Indian Kashmir. India blames the Islamist militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba for the Mumbai attacks in November 2008 that killed 179 people. The group has denied responsibIlity. Indian Kashmir, the focus of two wars between India and Pakistan, has been hit by a separatist revolt against Indian rule since 1989 in which tens of thousands have died, and which has been backed by Pakistan-based militants. New footage of Hudson plane crash
Jan. 23 - Newly released video shows the dramatic water touchdown of the US Airways plane as it crashes into New York's Hudson River. The video was taken on security cameras belonging to energy company, Consolidated Edison, and picks up the drama moments after Flight 1549 ditched into the water until the last of the 155 passengers and crew were rescued from the sinking Airbus.
