Udhey Aima receives Sher-I-Kashmir Gallantry Award Jammu (India) March 17, 2010 |

dhey Kumar Aima Senior Superintendent of Police (J&K Govt.) now retired has been conferred with Sheri-Kashmir Gallantry award for eliminating two Pakistani Fidayeens (suicide squads) who attacked Jammu Railway Station Jammu on 2nd of January 2004 at 1800 Hrs. The alert officer and his team of Officials swung into action and in a brilliant operation, executed with great skill and patience neutralized the two militants. A large quantity of arms and ammunition including two AK rifles with eight loaded magazines and ten hand grenades were recovered from the slain militants. Around 5000 passengers/civilians who were at the railway station waiting to board different trains were evacuated to safer places without any civilian causality. The train service was resumed within one and half hour after the operation was completed. Five other police officials working under him involved in the said operation have also been conferred with the Gallantry award. The medals were received by them from Hon”ble Chief Minister J&K Govt on 17th of March, 2010 at a police investiture ceremony at Police Headquarters Jammu. Udhey Kumar Aima is also a recipient of President’s Police Gallantry Medal for the same gallant act.
