My recent reminiscence of Baisahib and
Noorpura Tral Kashmir |
I had been to India in the month of October in 2011. During that trip my dream came true when I stayed with Baisahib and Bhabi at Noorpura Tral in Kashmir. Suneel Raina a good friend of mine living in Australia always wanted me and Geeta to visit his native village to spend some time with his parents.
This invitation was always coming from deep heart. We were also keen to spend some time with Bhai Sahib and Bhabhi so that we can have real feel of village life. Bhabi (Sunil’s Mother) picked us on 7th Oct around 12.30 pm from Srinagar airport. The excitement and enthusiasm Bhabi expressed when she saw us was so overwhelming and welcoming that we felt like the most wanted people in the universe. Same feeling was expressed when we met Bhaisahib. I had travelled through Awantipura many times when we used to go to Jammu from Srinagar, but never thought that there is a small village close by called Noorpura. Entering into Noorpura was a unique experience as we immediately felt a special relationship with the place as well as with the family. We were once again greeted by Baisahib when we reached home. Bhabi made tea for us and served with Kashmiri Kulcha.
I do not want to give the details of Gulmurg as we all know about it. We were back in the evening and had again a nice dinner after a long day. Second day was planned for Tulmul, Hari Parbat and Shankracharya. We had little time in the evening to have a shikara ride. We had great time watching sunset and ambience of Dal in the evening. We reached home in the evening. Bhaishaib was upset as to why Bhabi did not buy some fish. Since we were leaving next morning, food was not important but I wanted to enjoy the company. To my utter surprise Bhaisahib had cooked the nicest Roganjosh while we were away during the day time. The taste of food was indicative of the passion and love into it. The dream was fading but indeed we had a pleasant evening with them. |
