Mohan Lal Razdan | ||
A poet, a Musician, and a Visionary is no more ….. Sh. Mohan Lal Razdan, S/o Madhav Joo Razdan, born in July’1929. Originally from Nai Sarak, Habbakadal, Srinagar, Kashmir breathed his last on 2nd September, 2009 (Badhon Shuklpaksh, Triyodashi) at his present residence, 53-B, Tirath Nagar, Talab Tilloo Jammu. Sh. Mohan Lal Razdan was experienced personality and has authored many Kashmiri poems/bhajans/ghazals. His poems are mainly based on mysticism and belief that the world is mortal. He has followed the path of his Guru Late Swami Madsudhan Razdan. 38 of his works have been composed and published in a renowned book “Aerchar”. Foreword of the Book was written by Dr. Premi Romani and Sh. Pyaray Bhan. “Aerchar” was released by Smt. Mohni Ji Khosa (Mata Jee) on Feb 24, 2002. The function was presided over by Mr T N Khosa, president Kashmiri Pandit Sabha, Jammu, besides a galaxy of Kashmiri poets and intellectuals including famous Music Director, Mr Krishan Ji Langoo. Excerpts from the function (Courtesy: Daily Excelsior dated Feb25’2002): “Dr R L Shant, president "Samprati" in his introductory address threw light on the poetic niceties of Mr Razdan. He while paying tributes to the poet highly appreciated his collection of poems. In his address Mr Khosa said the book reflects the poet’s spiritual life. He also threw light on the poetry of Mr Razdan. He said like the other poets of Kashmir Mr Razdan is apostle of Sant culture.”

I feel name of Balasaheb should appear in the tributes column even though he was not from Kashmir to pay a real homage to this mighty soul. What contribution, he has made to the lives of our young Kashmiri boys & girls will be remembered for ever by our community.
