Namaste Children Last month we started with Nithya Shlokas. Our first Shloka # 1 which is said at the time when we get up early in the morning was fully described. Today we start with yet another important Shloka# 2 which is basically a Guru shlokaas for paying homage to our Guru. It is as under:- Guru Shloka Akanda mandalaakaaram Vyaptham yena chara charam Thath padham dharshitham yena Thasmai sree gurave namaha I, the disciple, pay homage to my Guru who had shown to me the venerable Foot that is indivisible and pervades all mobile and immobile creations. Akandaa nandha bodhaaya Sishya santhaapa haarine Sachidaanandha roopaaya Thasmai sree gurave namaha I pay homage to the preceptor who has attained endless joy and who eliminates the sufferings of the disciples, who is physical manifestation of the Supreme entity. Agnyaana thimiraandhasya Gnyaanaanjana chalaakaya Chakshu roon meelitham yena Thasmai sree gurave namaha Ignorance has blurred my vision. I pay homage to the preceptor who eliminated this ignorance from me by giving me the knowledge and restored my vision Guru brahma guru Vishnu Guru dhevo Maheshwaraha Guru saakshaath param brahma Thasmai sree gurave namaha The preceptor is the embodiment of Brahma the creator, Vishnu the protector and Maheshwara the regenerator. He is also the Brahman the Supreme being. To him I salute. Brahmaanandham param sookdham Kevalam gnyaana moorthim Dwandhvaa theetham gagana sadhrusham Thathva masyaadhi lakshyam I pay homage to the preceptor who leads me in the path of good conduct. He is blessed with the joy of the Supreme. He is a source of immense pleasure to his pupils and the embodiment of divine knowledge. Ekam nithyam vimala machalam Sarvadhee saakshi bootham Bhaavaa theetham thriguna rahitham Sathgurum tham namaami He is above all likes and dislikes and as pure as the clear sky. He is free from all antagonistic factors. He is not shaken from the eternal position he has attained. He is an observer and does not get attached nor indulge in any happenings around him. |
