It gives a heart-full happiness to greet, take part and subscribe to our "Shehjar" Patrika on her first birthday. For the first time this community voice is heard by all - clearly and globally. We find versatility, beauty and a focus in Shejar which are all unique in today's electronic journalism and sent to all of us, FREE. It caters to the needs of all areas, age groups, genders and hence is a real global voice - VISHWA VANI. That our Indians are doing this service is also a matter of pride to us all. May "Shehjar" become successful in all her ideals. Let us continue to support so this 'Call of the Kashmir Valley' fills the media for ever to shine, illuminate the minds and hearts of all and prosper with greater strengths.

It is a happy occasion to celebrate first anniversary of Shehjar. The very title gives a strange nostalgic feeling which is difficult to describe in words. I am sure this is particularly true for those who have lived in that heavenly valley which we have the privilege of calling home. The recent turbulent history makes it all the more significant. This onerous effort is a symbol of indelible link that we carry with us which is immune to time and turbulence.
We face many challenges. One of them is diffusion. I do not know whether we would be able to overcome it. Your effort gives us hope. The contribution of youth is very important in this. I wish Shehjar a long and fruitful future. With best wishes and congratulations at this splendid effort

| I was in school, probably in 10th class, and we would play paddy-field cricket in autumn, as India went to bat with Pakistan or vice versa. All other teams be dammed, this was the World Cup for Kashmiris; particularly Muslims, whose tempers would run very high when Kapil Dev would hit a sixer, and who would hoot with joy when Imran Khan would hit a four. ‘Kircut’, as Muslims would pronounce the game in their Kinglish (a mix of Kashmiri and English language) would travel deep into their veins during a test match. “Who would win,” as you asked anybody – a farmer, a carpenter, a labourer, a businessman or anyone who was someone with little or all the knowledge of the game –pat would come the reply: “Inshah Allah, Pakistan.” Those days advertising and the technology related to it wasn’t as developed as it is today, and so wasn’t television, so cricket players would come printed on tin plates in colour and were sold in the Srinagar streets. Mohsin Khans would sell like hot cakes, but Mohinder Amarnath’s wouldn’t. On the outskirts of the Srinagar city, in what were places inhabited by the elite, posters of Indian players would be splattered overnight with mud and some of them torn, and those of Pakistan decorated with a patch of green, denoting the locals’ (read Muslims’) alliance with the nation across the border. Finally, if India won, the fervent population would have its faces down and throw abuses at the players who made it happen. But, if Indian lost, they would burn firecrackers and still hurl abuses at the team, which lost the game to their dear neighbour. In triumph or in defeat – in both the cases – it was India that was at the receiving end. India, on the other hand, would not react. It would stay quiet and tell Kashmirs (read Muslims) they are very good-natured people? Years and lot of bloodshed later, as we see Kashmir burning again today, nothing has changed in the psyche, except one thing, and that is the tilt towards Pakistan has got official patrons in a hallucinating Mehbooba Muft, a dubious Farooq Abdulla, and a paralyzed Gulam Nabi Azad. India is still quiet and a Sardar and a Sonia still love Kashmiris (read Muslims). | |

Articles are well written and in general well edited.Drawing the information and putting it before the community is not an ordinary effort.I am sure you shall make proper archives to store the information and the knowledge gathered by various authors for the posterity.

| WHERE IS THE KEY
For creating the temporary infrastructure facilities, necessary amenities etc to the pilgrims during their yatra to “AMAR NATH SHRINE”, the proposal for allotment of land measuring about 39.88 hectares of land in Kashmir valley near BALTAL was mooted by the then coalition Govt led by Mufti Mohmad sayeed which was leased out to AMAR NATH SHRINE Board on 26.05.2008 after seeking the approval of the cabinet which included the PDP members during the tenure of Chief Ministership of sh.Ghulam Nabi Azad. |

Just after the transfer of land to SASB (Shri AMAR NATH SHRINE BOARD) the PDP Members of Coalition Govt resigned and joined hands with Hurriyat Conference and other separatist factions in the Kashmir valley to oppose the allotment and made the innocent kashmiri masses who have and are suffering since long due to atrocities of the so called amalgam of Muslim Organizations of valley by way of, killing, loot, sexual harassment to women etc, scapegoat by airing the rumors that Hindus will raise colony over the allotted land which will lead to demographic change. But no one bothered to ask the Kashmiri Muslim leaders, how many million outsiders would fit into 39.88 Hectares of land at an altitude of 10,000feet which is even snow bound for 8-9 months in a year.
n context to the above facts which whole of the world is observing since last two months?
