Sitar Maestro Prof. Padmini Tikoo honoured Jammu, India March 23, 2012 |
Professor, Dr. Padmini Tikoo, sitar maestro and source of inspiration for budding artists of the Jammu & Kashmir state has been conferred with Pride Of India Award by AINUC, New Delhi in recognition of her efforts in promoting all round development and distinctive achievements in the field of performing arts & literature.
Dr. Padmini Tikoo has also been honoured with the prestigious "Best Citizen of India Award-2010" by International Publication in recognition of her outstanding contribution in the field of music. An alumni of BHU, with many awards to her credit, is double PhD in Music and Sanskrit Literature. Dr Tikoo is first to demonstrate highly innovative and creative performances i,e Yoga through classical Music and specially composed spiritual concert for international conferences in 2003 & 2007 respectively. Professor Padmini is credited for being nominated by many universities for practical examinations and PhD thesis evaluation. At present she is working as HOD Sanskrit at Government MAM PG College, Jammu. |
