The last period of humanlife, now often consideredthe years after 65, is old age presently called in a polite language as senior citizens. The age of 60 or above, roughly equivalent to retirement ages in most developed countries is above 65 said to be the beginning of old age. A comfortable old age is the reward of a well-spent youth. Instead of its bringing sad and gloomy state of mind prospects of decay, it would give us hopes of eternal youth in a better world. The old age a process is of biological reality, which has its own dynamic, largely beyond human control. When people start out on adult life, they are, on average, pretty cheerful things go downhill from youth to middle age until they reach a stage commonly known as the mid-life crisis so far, so familiar, but the surprising part happens after that as people move towards old age ,they lose things their treasurevitality, mental sharpness and looks. No man loves life like him that is growing old, the tragedy of old age is not that one is old, but that one is young. Some people refer the old age as the ‘golden years’? Believe it, they can tell you from their personal experience that it is so ‘golden, and do not even like the term ‘senior. ‘They say why can’t people just admit that old age is golden age?” How small a portion of this period may be that they really need to enjoy, they believe that to retire is to die and retirement at sixty is ridiculous. In youth we are looking forward to things that are to come; in old age, we are looking backwards to things that have gone past; in manhood, although we appear indeed to be more occupied in things that are present, yet even that is too often absorbed in vague determinations to be vastly happy on some future day, when we have time. Some people in this age take its pleasures, which, though in a different way, are not less than the pleasures of their youth, those old persons are in their second childhood, their trick is growing up without growing old, and every day is a chance to change the life and live again. A man's age is something impressive, it sums up his life, maturity reached slowly and against many obstacles, illnesses cured, grief’s and despairs overcome, and unconscious risks taken; maturity formed through so many desires, hopes, regrets, forgotten things, loves, a man's age represents a fine cargo of experiences and memories of the past, every human being has an innate positive nature because of the inherent qualities of love, peace, happiness etc. that are within. Introversion, the practice of looking within, enables one to be in constant touch with oneself and one's true nature. It helps express these qualities in everything that is done, because of having practiced for a long time with them; these qualities emerge out naturally at all the times, particularly in old age. An interesting comparison to understand clearly the relationship between the soul and the body is that the soul is the resident of a house or an apartment, which is the physical body, but I am a resident in it, then I move in to another house or apartment. Since I spend so much time inside it, I need to maintain the body, take care of its upkeep and the kind of physical and spiritual atmosphere that exists inside it. When I keep it clean, fresh and vibrant, only then can I live in it comfortably till beginning of the end. Aging is an important part of all humans, reflecting the biological changes that occur, but also reflecting cultural and social conventions, though it has been seen that women normally outlive men, and this was as true in pre-industrial times as today due to a stronger immune system, but in old age all diseases run into one and most common is memory loss(Alzheimer's ), Some memory issues are due to stress, anxiety, or depression, or a traumatic life event, such as the death of a spouse, can lead to changes in lifestyle and can leave an elderly person feeling unsure of themselves, sad, and lonely, dealing with such drastic life changes can therefore leave some people confused or forgetful. While in some cases these feelings may fade, it is important to take these emotional problems seriously, by emotionally supporting a struggling relative and seeking help from a doctor or counselor, the chances are that forgetfulness can be improved, and another common problem in old age is bones related diseases(osteoporosis), one of the greatest indignities about being old is that people insist on helping you with things like to stand up, bathing and going to the washroom, that’s the “beginning of the end”, the behavioral and lifestyle factors also influencing aging which including diet and eating habits, environment and living conditions, and also drugs that may increase and decrease aging rates, aging (old age) can also be seen as an undesirable phenomenon, reducing strength, beauty and bringing one closer to death. A recent survey has shown that roughly 100,000 people worldwide die each day of age-related causes. Age to some people means nothing, old age, there is no general agreement on the age at which a person becomes old they claim that we can't get old; as long as we are working we stay fit and young, When we are in front of an audience, all that love and vitality and strength sweeps over us and we forget our age, they are blessed with remarkable physical health, and claim that they never had a sniff. ASuccessful aging consists of three components, Low probability of disease or disability; High cognitive and physical function capacity; Active engagement with life, mental health and social support, healthy aging is a lifelong concept that encompasses the mental, social and physical well-being of people and the communities, healthy communities address basic needs, promote optimal health and wellbeing, civic and social engagement and support the independence of the elderly. Thanks to breakthroughs in treatments for heart disease and cancer, lives relatively free of hard labor and Concept of physical Exercises joining at the gym, the life span has increased. Modern science says that extension of average lifespan can be achieved by good diet, exercise and avoidance of hazards such as smoking, drugs etc., and maximum lifespan is determined by the rate of agingfor a species inherent in its genes. Currently, the only widely recognized method of extending maximum lifespan is on restriction of calories in take. In spite of the developments mentioned above and the fact that aging is admitted to be the major cause of mortality in developed worlds, the anti-aging and life extension research is greatly underway, there have been some scientific attempts to bring dead organisms back to life, but with a limited success.in this support Scientists also point to recent examples of yeast cells and worms and lab mice whose life spans they have extended to some extent with feats of genetic manipulation, and they suggest that they will be able to achieve more modest results in humans, they don't talk about immortality, but they do talk about healthy and marginal extended life even a small portion. Scientists believe that strengthening and protecting your body cells is what keeps your health, beauty and body young for a long time, and old age can be put off for a certain period, but it won't happen without your help, as to accomplish this a broad-based collaborative approach is required by the policymakers (availability of funds), service providers, businesses, civic and faith-based organizations, individuals and families and the need of the hour is to reforms or to build a better, fairer, more sustainable and more nationally consistent aged care system. Despite the Modern science running so advanced that, in spite of treatment, a condition or illness will cause death. In those cases, patients can decide what they do and do not want done, they can decide whether they want aggressive treatment that might prolong life for a brief period or whether they prefer to stop treatment, which could mean dying sooner but more comfortably. Ultimately, everything begins only to end, the moment we were born, we began to die, and that is how it is with everything. You never know how much time you will have to live, but we cannot stop living because other people are dead, also the death of someone we know always reminds us that we are still alive perhaps for some purpose that we ought to re-examine. In the end, each of us understands the real reason for our existence, and out of that moment, Heaven (surg) or Hell (nark) is born, Hell is when we look back during that even fraction of a second and know that we wasted an opportunity to dignify the miracle of life. Paradise is being able to say at that moment: "I made some mistakes, but I wasn’t a coward, corrected them. I lived my life and did what I had to do." Sometimes you got a stop and remember that you are not gone to live forever, but as long as you live be young, think smart, stay true and just follow your heart for benefit and help to humankind. The fear of Death follows the fear of Life. A man who Lives fully is prepared to die at any Time. Says, Mark Twain. Life in cosmic system is not a bed of roses, for travelling on spiritual path, for gaining enlightenment one needed will power as demonstrated by Swami Vivekananda the famous pupil disciple of Shri Ramakrishna Paramhansa In his lifetime. Shri Ramakrishna Paramhansa after gaining enlightenment finally liberated self from cycle of birth and death forever! He found inner strength to face those who would carry out such atrocities and was bold even unto death! Do not give in, do not give up always give back to the world, was his sermon. The Ultimate Truth about birth and death is that all embodied life is in reality an incarnation of God, God always watches out for all times whenever there is decline of Virtues and predominance of vices. | |
