Dr. Chowdhury 's latest book why Don't you convert is one of the most important books that have come out in public domain a few months ago. the book has not been released formally but despite that it has earned rave reviews in the literary circles. It is hard to classify this book in any set or formal genre because of the fact that the swathe of this book seems to superimpose or pass over many fields. At one time it is a bunch of classic stories written in the classical style but at the other it is a collection of real happening related to a struggling but promising young doctor. As the book progresses with one story changing places for the other the young doctor matures into a wise physician whose all senses are alive to the minutest twitch of his patients. Why don't You convert is a path breaking attempt and perhaps first in the realm of medicine. This is a story collection but at the same time it is a brilliant analysis of diagnosis of diseases as a result of various problems. This way it is a must read for doctors who desire to practice serious and incisive medicine. In the field of literature in exile, this book shall find permanent place as a result of real and heartbreaking stories like Why Don't you Convert, Final Diagnosis, Tender than a petal, harder than a stone and The Mover of chess pieces. Written in a chiseled and lucid style with beautiful sentence construction it is also an amazing insight into the working of the mind of a celebrated doctor who has entered the field of literature with graceful writing. It is hence a must read, and must keep book the like of which we rarely come across. |
