2011- The Year of Collaboration

Dear Readers of Shehjar,

Congratulations for playing your part in 2010 and best wishes for the year 2011. 1-1-11 was the first day of the New Year 2011. What is the significance? No, we are not numerologists, astrologists or soothsayers who could qualify the year on that basis. We are optimists however and hope that it means good luck, fortune, love and happiness for all. Cheers!

Some of our readers and friends sent us their observations and also took up the challenge to provide significance for the date and a purpose for this year.

Observations and Comments
Significance and Interpretations
(we might be better off if we just agree)
1-1-11 means "God is 1", "We are 1" and this 1 and 1 adds up to 11.
This could be the year when we form a bond with God and are therefore carried in our missions.
Akh te Akh Gaye Kah is an old Kashmiri saying. Means when two people partner well, the result equals the efforts of 11.
This may be a year of working collaboratively, in partnership and in togetherness.
Jan 11 will be 1-11-11,
November 1 will be 11-1-11 and
November 11 will be 11-11-11.
Oh. More Cheers!
November 20 will be 20-11-2011.
Even More Cheers!

A reader suggested that in this year 1 and 1 come together to make 11 and similarly all Kashmiris should come together in peace, harmony and understanding. If this thought dominates, we could see a comprehensive, welcoming and safe return of Kashmiri Hindus to their homeland. That would start a process for rebuilding of the Kashmiri state; such a process had also occurred earlier in history, after only the proverbial 11 Kashmiri Hindu families had remained in the valley.

A date with all 1s will come again only after another 100 years, which will be 1-1-111. We may not be around till then. So, let us make this year and this time count.

We hope that you enjoy this issue of Shehjar as you have enjoyed other issues in the past. Please keep your feedback coming by emailing us at editor.shehjar@gmail.com.
