ashmiri Hindus Martyrs' Day on 14 September is an occasion to remember and to pay tributes to those brave men and women who laid down their lives to uphold the territorial integrity and the sovereignty of the Indian nation. It was on 14 September 1989 when Pt. Tika Lal Taploo and Bal Krishen Ganjoo fell to the bullets of assassin.Nearly 2000 eminent Kashmiri Hindus and the Indian Security forces have sacrificed their lives in defending their country.
"Today, on 14th September, we join the Kashmiri Hindus across the globe in paying homage to our brave Kashmiri Hindu men and women who lost their lives for us and we applaud their bravery and the sacrifices they made for us. We are also reminded of the elements of 1989-1990 that led to our forced exodus from the valley, the land of our birth. The KH community was made to leave the valley by brutal killings and torture.Innocent men, women and children were slaughtered and the entire community was uprooted from their ancestral homes.80,000 Kashmiri Hindus are now living in exile in Jammu and in other parts of India for the past twenty one years." said the organizers. Kashmiri Hindus will continue with their non-violent war until we can go back with honor and dignity to the land of our birth and reinvent our ancient culture and traditions. On 7 September,2011, New Delhi suffered with another blast outside the Delhi High Court.IEKF and the British Kashmiri Hindus condemn the killing of 11 innocent people and the injuries of 76 people. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those people who lost their lives and with those who got injured. IEKF also organized a special Puja / Havan on 24 September,2011 in the Midlands to pay tributes to our Martyrs. The event will be attended by the IEKF Members, the UK KP community and Marcus Jones, MP for Warwickshire.
